Synthpop legend Thomas Dolby takes us to a dieselpunk dystopia for his first studio album in 20 years(via @io9)

Fascinating interview about the brilliant new project from the man who was steampunk before anyone had ever thought of “steampunk.” I’m not even a gamer and I’m all a-tingle about this crossover idea!

"After becoming famous for such hits as 1982’s "She Blinded Me With Science," synthesizer maestro Thomas Dolby spent 20+ years in the private sector inventing new digital music technologies."

Masha Sardari is still a teenager, and yet her work on flickr is truly impressive. Her self-portraits are by far her best work. The magic of her ethereal, Pre-Raphaelite/Symbolist images seems to only exist with her within them. It’s the tension between her thin, angular, waifish body—lovely, awkward, and fragile—and the macabre and beautiful natural environment that will make you want to spend the next 2 hours going through all of her photostream. Also, much of her shoots are in Northeast Florida, my home since birth, and I am more than a little in love with that fact. The details of her environment are at once familiar and mysterious. Like a good fairy tale. I’d love to see what she’ll be doing a decade from now.
